ACEL360 was extended a VIP invite to attend The Federal Asian Pacific American Council’s (FAPAC) 33rd Annual National Leadership Training Program (NLTP) from May 14-17, 2018 at the Sheraton Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. The 2018 NLTP theme is “Unite Our Vision by Working Together.”

FAPAC has represented the interests of Asian American and Pacific Islanders since 1985, promoting equal opportunity, cultural diversity, civic participation, and the advancement of government employees through training, education, mentoring, and development.

“ACEL360 stands shoulder to shoulder with FAPAC in calling for Asian Pacific Americans to stand together, united in our vision for equal opportunity,” Sanjay Puri, CEO of ACEL360, said. “Small and medium sized businesses in our communities, especially, need events like this to expand their networks.”

“More than 300 Federal and District of Columbia government employees representing various federal agencies attended this event which provided ACEL360 with the opportunity to call for greater inclusion and access for the APA business community in the federal marketplace,” Puri continued. “ACEL360 directly related its concerns to decision makers, policymakers and influencers, and we are appreciative of this opportunity.”

Bill Yarnoff, President of ACEL360, stressed that events like these create pipelines that are necessary for business entrepreneurs in the APA community to succeed. The NLTP included discussions and workshops with senior government officials that focused on career development, leadership, strategic management, communications, diversity and inclusion.

Purithanked FAPAC President Olivia Adrian for her strong leadership on these issues. He also commended U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine L. Chao, who keynoted the event, for her remarkable achievements and lifelong commitment to the APA community. The Honorable Elaine L. Chao is the 18th U.S. Secretary of Transportation, her second cabinet level position. She became the first Asian Pacific American woman in U.S. history to be appointed to a President’s Cabinet when she was sworn in as the 24th U.S. Secretary of Labor.
